This Privacy Policy explains how Salty Pistachio Ltd (“Salty Pistachio”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use TalkAround, marketed on the App Store as Translathor: Your Translator (the “App”).
Information the App handles
- Translation content: Text you type, dictate, or extract from a photo, together with the selected source and target languages.
- Voice input: If you grant microphone and speech-recognition permission, the App uses Apple’s speech-recognition services to turn speech into text. Apple may process voice input according to its own privacy terms.
- Camera and photos: If you grant permission, the App can take a photo. Text recognition is performed on your device. The photo itself is not sent to our translation provider.
- Local history and preferences: Translation history, favorites, downloaded phrase selections, appearance choices, and audio speed are stored on your device.
- Purchase information: Apple processes subscription purchases. We receive entitlement status but not your full payment-card details.
How information is used and shared
When you choose to translate online, the source text and language choices are sent to Google Cloud Translation to return the translation. Google processes that content as our service provider under its applicable privacy and data-processing terms. We use information only to provide and maintain the App, fulfil purchases, and respond to support requests. We do not sell personal information and the App does not include third-party advertising.
On-device storage and retention
Translation history and favorites remain on your device until you delete individual entries, clear history, or remove the App. An optional custom Google Cloud API key is stored in the iOS Keychain. PDF exports are created only when you request them and are shared or saved through Apple’s standard share controls.
Permissions and your choices
You can deny or revoke microphone, speech-recognition, camera, and photo-library access in iOS Settings. You can use typed translation without camera access, clear translation history in the App, and manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID subscription settings.
Children
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate.
International processing and security
Service providers may process information in countries other than your own. We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, but no transmission or storage method is completely secure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the App or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date.
