Still Journal Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Still Journal iOS application provided by The Salty Pistachio LTD (“Salty Pistachio”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By downloading or using Still Journal, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
These Terms supplement the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If these Terms conflict with Apple’s agreement on a matter governed by that agreement, Apple’s agreement controls.
1. Still Journal
Still Journal is a private, local-first journaling tool that lets you save written entries, photos, moods, gratitude, prompts, places, selected Apple Calendar events, and memory collections. Still Journal is not an emergency, medical, mental-health, storage, or backup service.
You are responsible for your device, your journal content, and any backup you choose to maintain. Because journal content is stored locally and is not sent to Salty Pistachio servers, we cannot recover content deleted from the app or your device.
2. Licence and acceptable use
Subject to these Terms and Apple’s rules, Salty Pistachio grants you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Still Journal on Apple devices you own or control.
You may not copy, sell, rent, redistribute, reverse engineer, interfere with, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the app, except where applicable law expressly permits it. You must not use Still Journal unlawfully or in a way that infringes another person’s rights.
3. Your content
You retain ownership of the content you create or add to Still Journal. You confirm that you have the necessary rights to that content and that your use of it complies with applicable law. We do not claim ownership of your journal content and do not receive it on Salty Pistachio servers.
4. Free and Premium access
The free version lets you view the newest 30 saved journal days. When you have reached that limit and save another new day, the app warns that the oldest seven days will be deleted. Premium removes that app-imposed history limit and unlocks additional features described in the app, including memory collections and expanded personalisation and capture options.
Features may evolve as the app is improved. We will not charge you for a paid feature without clearly presenting the price through Apple’s purchase flow.
5. Auto-renewing subscriptions
Still Journal offers monthly and annual auto-renewing Premium subscriptions.
- The subscription name, duration, full renewal price, and available benefits are shown before purchase. Prices can vary by country or region and are confirmed in the Apple purchase sheet.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- A subscription renews automatically for the same duration unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period. Apple may charge your account for renewal within 24 hours before that period ends.
- You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account subscription settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- You can use Restore Purchases in the app to restore an eligible subscription associated with your Apple Account.
- Apple handles billing, cancellation, and refund requests under its applicable terms and policies. Salty Pistachio cannot issue App Store refunds directly.
Premium access depends on a valid App Store entitlement. If a subscription expires or is cancelled, the app returns to the free plan rules. Your local journal content remains subject to the retention behaviour described in the app and these Terms.
6. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. Still Journal does not send your journal content to Salty Pistachio servers and does not include third-party advertising or analytics.
7. Availability and changes
We aim to keep Still Journal useful and reliable, but we do not guarantee that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every future device or iOS version. We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the app. Any mandatory consumer rights you have remain unaffected.
8. Disclaimers and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Still Journal is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties beyond those that cannot legally be excluded. Salty Pistachio is not responsible for loss caused by device failure, lost access, deletion, a missing backup, unauthorised device access, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation. If applicable law does not allow a limitation in this section, that limitation applies only to the maximum extent permitted.
9. Ending use
You may stop using Still Journal at any time. If you have an active subscription, you must cancel it through Apple to stop future renewals. We may terminate your licence to use the app if you materially breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without depriving you of mandatory consumer protections available in the country where you live. The courts available under applicable consumer law will have jurisdiction.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to Still Journal or applicable requirements. We will post revised Terms at this address and update the effective date above. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
